Mamá Victoria

  1. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken

  2. Show commitment to & perseverance in CAS experiences

Mamá Victoria is a shelter home for young mothers and their children. We visited every Saturday and taught the kids English and helped them with their homework if they wanted help. We organized donations for the children and helped the mothers sell their "chocotejas" which are chocolate candies to pay for the expenses of their home. I did my best to be able to go to Mamá Victoria before the pandemic and enjoyed spending time with the kids in the mornings. Most of the time it was hard to keep the children interested in our activities so it always took a lot of planning beforehand to make sure the kids were having as much fun with us as possible. We hope to be able to visit them at least once before leaving Peru for college to say goodbye.
